Full This course provides a basic introduction to Matthew, Mark, and Luke (the "Synoptic Gospels") and the Gospel of John. It acquaints students with an overview of the teaching and mission of Jesus in these Gospels. Prerequisite: IN301. Open This course is held at the Mediation Skills Training Institute at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Glen Ellyn, IL. It is a one-week intensive involving lectures, discussion and guided practice. The sessions emphasize hands-on skills and role-plays based on actual conflicts. A separate registration with the Lombard Mennonite Peace Center is required, including an additional fee of $695 by July 6. Masters students can receive a $695 tuition credit at Northern when they register and bring in the original receipt of payment of this fee. Open Supervised pastoral experience in a clinical setting accredited by The Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc., with attention to the religious issues of illness and death, to medical ethics, to the formation of pastoral identity and to the development of interpersonal competence in ministry. A full-time basic unit requires an intensive experience of at least 10 weeks of involvement (40 hrs/wk). Prerequisites: SM500 Information Session, PC301 or PC302, completion of at least 30 hours of seminary coursework and the CPE Information Session on Moodle (Required for M.Div, or Min.Elec.)
